How to Measure Yourself for a Cock Ring
Cock rings, sometimes known as penis rings, are an amazing addition to your sex life. They work by gently restricting blood flow out of your erection, helping you to stay harder and making everything even more sensitive. Some cock rings vibrate or have extras attached, such as clitoral stimulators to please your partner during sex.
But if you’ve never worn a cock ring before, how do you know what size to buy? Here’s a quick guide to measuring yourself for a cock ring.
Option 1: Use a Tape Measure
If you have a tape measure, this is the easiest way to measure yourself for a cock ring. Measure around the base of your penis, just above the scrotum, when you’re fully erect. Wrap the tape measure around your penis once and make a note of the number you get. This is the circumference.
Option 2: String and Ruler
If you don’t have a tape measure, you can use a piece of string. Wrap it around your penis in the same way we described above. Mark the point on the string where it meets, and then lay the string flat on a surface. Measure it with a ruler, and you have the circumference.
Calculating the Diameter
Some cock rings are advertised with their measurements in circumference, others in diameter (and some will list both.) To get the diameter of your penis, divide the circumference by 3.14. For example, if the circumference of your penis is 5”, your circumference is 1.6”.
Consider How Tight You Want the Ring
A cock ring that is too tight can be painful or even dangerous. One that is too loose won’t have the desired effect.
Remember that most cock rings are at least somewhat stretchy. Look at the minimum and maximum measurements listed by the manufacturer, if they are available. As long as your size falls within that range, the ring will fit you. For a rigid cock ring, choose one 0.25” – 0.5” smaller than your penis’s diameter. Anything smaller will be too constricting and is not recommended.
