Silicone Lube: The Basics
Unlike water-based lube, silicone never soaks into skin, so after a single application the slickness stays around. This allows you to keep up your activity for much longer than traditional lubes. It works especially well for areas where more lube is always preferred, like anal play.
There’s another nice side effect of silicone: it’s nearly 100 percent allergy free. If you normally get a rash from other lubes, silicone might be the answer.
Meet Gun Oil, A Veteran Of Many Engagements
One of our most popular silicone lubricants is Gun Oil. This same high-tech formula is based off a silicone weaponry lube developed by the United States military. Very popular among soldiers on the battlefield, eventually it was modified and re-released for love, not war.
As an ultra-concentrated form of silicone, Gun Oil lasts for the long haul and doesn’t absorb into skin. Since it doesn’t dissolve in water either, this lube is perfect for some frisky shower time play. The only real additions from the original military formula are Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to soften the skin while reducing irritation.
